SHORELINE MASTER PROGRAM UPDATE The City of Lake Stevens Shoreline Master Program (SMP) is a planning document that outlines goals and policies for the shorelines of the City. The SMP also establishes regulations for development occurring within shoreline jurisdiction.
Adoption Process On November 28, 2011, the Lake Stevens City Council approved a Final Draft Shoreline Master Program and associated documents. The final packet has been submitted to the Washington Department of Ecology for their review. Ecology will hold their own public comment period and are expected to hold a public hearing. The Local Adoption Process should be completed by the end of 2011. The final step will be adoption of the Ecology approved documents by City Council. City Staff will continue to update Interested Parties on Ecology’s review process.
