LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVING LOCAL NEEDS

Welcome to the official website for the City of Lake Stevens.  This site is designed to help keep you informed about our community.  We will provide you with information about services, latest news, announcements and MORE that the City has to offer.

If after viewing this website you still do not have the answers that you are looking for let us know by filling out our Citizen Request Form.

Over the next couple of months we will continue to add additional information and forms to better serve you.

SOUTHWEST ANNEXATION UPDATE

The November 3, General Election was certified on November 24, 2009,and the vote for annexation has passed in favor of Annexation. The effective date of the annexation will be December 31, 2009.  Residents living in the proposed annexation area will begin to be served by the City of Lake Stevens on that date.  In the next week or so residents in the newly annexed area will receive in the mail a Welcome Letter from Mayor Vern Little and a City Information Brochure.

CENSUS

As part of the annexation process, the State of Washington requires that we conduct a census of all housing units. The information gathered from the Census is very important as State and Federal funding is based on accurate City population.  The only information required in this census is the names of all individuals residing in your home.  The information you provide will be held strictly confidential.  Cooperating with the census ensures that the City of Lake Stevens receives a full share of state funds allotted for essential public services.  It is also important to let you know that this is a City annexation census and does not take the place of the federal census that will be conducted by the US Census Bureau next year.

Your home will be visited by a census worker wearing a florescent vest and wearing a City identification badge sometime between December 17, 2009 and January 31, 2009.  You can also provide your census information (available 24 hours a day) at any time by calling the Lake Stevens Census Hotline at 1 (800) 635-6594
